All done, everything back together and the only modification to the vans fittings was to jigsaw about 5 mm off the end of the rear shelving unit which I suppose was made tighter by the difference in ply thickness.

Notice the can of inspiration on the cushion. Several of these were needed to get me through the job.

  1. Wow this is an enormous help tp me as we too have been ripped off when we purchased a Swift Corniche on e-bay. The lady who sold it to us swore that it was bone dry. The van itself is brilliant for its age however we have found soft spots in all 4 corners, obviously because the seals have not been resealed in the past. I think the damage is in about the same place as yours. Others have told me that this job was too big for the amateur but its the only way I can do it as professional prices are too steep!
Thanks for taking the time to document it for others like myself to learn from. My problem is I don't have anywhere to keep the van while repairing it, it is in storage at the moment. So that is my first job to find somewhere to site it.
    thanks again.

  2. This is a brilliant piece of work and like others I am indebted to you for taking the time and trouble to record it.

I am currently looking for a similar project.
